Special Issue on Materials in Additive Manufacturing
Dear Professors/Teachers/Academicians/Research Scholars,
Having developed over the past thirty years, additive manufacturing has become a widely used manufacturing method. In additive manufacturing, materials are added layer-by-layer directly from a 3D model. Compared to traditional manufacturing methods, it can produce complex parts and offers more freedom for design optimization.
Currently, the development of 3Dprintable materials through all existing AM sub-technologies is becoming the focus of researchers' attention and the benchmark for business competitors' competence.
Leading scholars in materials in additive manufacturing will contribute to this special issue. As a result of their experience in materials processes such as synthesis, preparation, formulation, optimization of print parameters, and characterisation, papers will address topics such as:
  • Synthesis and preparation of materials to meet the requirements of AM techniques
  • Preparation of 3D printable materials
  • Parameter/material optimisation for tailoring the properties of prints
  • Materials development for 4D printing
  • Meta-Material creation via 3D and 4D printing.
  • 3Dprintable materials processed using a novel AM process
  • Influence of processing and post-processing on microstructure and mechanical properties
  • Materials characterisation for AM
  • Testing, modelling, and in-process monitoring enable the development and qualification of processes

About the Journal
IJMSE is a scientific research journal that is published quarterly by the Iran University of Science and Technology, Iranian Metallurgical Society, and Iranian Ceramic Society. It publishes original scientific research papers in the broad area of materials engineering. IJMSE is indexed in Web of Science, Emerging Source Citation Index, Islamic Worlds Science Citation Center, and also in Scopus since 2009. It has recently moved to Q3 in the Engineering category of Scopus with 0.79 Citescore and 0.2 SJR. IJMSE supports an open-access publication that doesn't have any article processing or submission charges.
